DAEDALUS National Supercomputer
CABLETEC undertook the construction of the electrical works of the new Supercomputing Data Center – Daedalus in Lavrio, Attica, with an initial budget of €1,250,000.
The New National Supercomputer DAEDALUS will be installed in the building of the “Former Electric Station” in the Lavrion Technological and Cultural Park, a monument of modern industrial heritage. It is an evolution of the National Supercomputer ARIS, with which it will operate in a complementary manner. It is worth noting that its operation is expected to have a low energy footprint, as it will be powered by renewable energy systems. At the same time, a significant reduction in electricity consumption from the grid will be achieved through the PV Park. Greece, through GRNET, strategically supports science and technology in the wider region of South East Europe, coordinating a number of major electronic infrastructure projects, with the creation of the EuroHPC Competence Center being a valuable contribution in this direction.
